I have been teaching at the University level since 2000, when I made my internship designing communication skills courses for IT students. Lately, as a university lecturer, I have been involved with Master’s level students mostly, and especially with international students. Most of my teaching nowadays is in English, but every once in a while I do get a chance to do my thing in Finnish as well.
I have studied Adult Pedagogy (aikuiskasvatus) as a part of my original M.A. degree, and later on done pedagogical studies with a CLIL-focus (content and language integrated learning) during the academic year 2011-2012.
In 2014 I received the award for the Teacher of the Year in Intercultural Environment.
Here on these pages I will present both general musings about teaching (philosophy, etc.) and practical examples of courses that I have pulled through.
